Todannur Mahadevakshetram  is located 10 kms north east of vatakara, Kerala. The Thodannur Mahadevakshetram is one of the  oldest  "SIVAPARVATHI " temples in Kerala and is specially associated with Parvathidevi,

The earliest historical references of  this temple appear in the poems and hymns composed by the greatest Gounder saints - , in 800 AD.The main deity of the temple Lord Shiva And Parvathi is seated Eastwards with Nandi (the bull), his vehicle facing them. Generally In all temples there is the concept of Ganapathi and ayyappa pratishtha  on the Southern side, but in this temple Sree ayyappa pratishtha  is in the South West side.

The greatest highlight of this temple is “Umamaheswara Pooja” for Mangalya Bhagyam, there are devotees from faraway places come here to perform this pooja.

There are two committees which manage the temple activities. 

1. Thodannur Mahadeva Kshethram Paripalana Committee

2. Thodannur Mahadeva Kshethram Vikasana Committee

All the day today activities are being taken care by paripalana committee and all the developments are taken care by vikasana committee.


This temple is located in Maniyur Panchayath in vatakara taluk and the nearest railway station is vatakara and nearest airports are Kannur and Calicut Airport.
